What do I get for donating? +
Nothing. Genuinely, truly, absolutely nothing. No email confirmation beyond Stripe's receipt, no sticker, no shoutout, no digital download. Nothing enters your life as a result of this transaction. This is stated clearly and repeatedly because we want you to be fully informed before you click anything.
Where does the money actually go? +
Directly into one private individual's personal bank account, minus Stripe's processing fees (~2.9% + 30¢). Not a charity. Not a nonprofit. Not a company. Just a person who would prefer to stop working sooner rather than later. There is no cause, no mission, no product.
Is this legal? +
Yes. Voluntarily giving money to a private individual with no expectation of goods or services is a legal gift in the United States. The recipient is responsible for any applicable tax obligations on funds received. This site makes no misrepresentations about what donors receive — which is nothing — making it distinct from fraud.
Is my payment information safe? +
Yes. All payments are processed entirely by Stripe, Inc., one of the world's leading payment processors. Your card number, CVV, and billing details are entered directly into Stripe's secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure. This website's server never sees, stores, or has access to your payment details at any point.
Can I get a refund? +
No. By completing a donation you acknowledge that this is a voluntary, non-refundable transfer with no goods or services provided in exchange. This is disclosed clearly before checkout. If you believe a charge was made in error or without your authorization, contact your card issuer directly.
Is this a scam? +
No. A scam requires deception. This site states plainly — on the homepage, in the checkout flow, and in the Terms of Use — exactly what this is: a voluntary gift to a private individual who will use it toward early retirement. There are no hidden conditions, no future obligations, and no misrepresentation of any kind.
Why $10 million? +
At a conservative 4% annual withdrawal rate, $10M generates ~$400,000/year in perpetuity from investment returns — enough to retire comfortably without ever touching the principal. It's a real number, not arbitrary. Every dollar genuinely contributes to it.
Is this tax-deductible? +
Absolutely not. This site is not a registered charity or nonprofit. Donations cannot be claimed as tax deductions. Please do not attempt to claim this on your taxes. Your accountant would have questions we cannot answer.
